Jayce Boyd followed with a single to right field that plated Plawecki and Boyd moved to second base after a fielding error by Bermudez. Reliever Steve Hensley then replaced Vasquez on the mound. With two outs and Boyd on third base, Hensley threw a wild pitch that allowed the go-ahead run to score giving Binghamton a 6-5 lead.

Binghamton added to the lead in the top of the eighth inning. Pinch-hitter Kyle Johnson hit a two-out double to center field and scored on a Plawecki single to left field to make the score 7-5.
