First billed as the “New Colossal Show of 1884”, the Circus is celebrating its 130th year anniversary by performing a special show reprising legendary circus acts alongside Cirque Nouveau artists.

See Mexico’s Angels in the Air trapeze artists soar high above the audience.  Daredevils cast caution aside in ThunderDrome, and the Cole Bros. Clown Crew arrive with comic results.  Elephants and acrobats, tigers, jugglers, artists and clowns, all take their turns in the spotlight; and The Human Cannonball gets fired at every show!

Goodwill Ambassador for the Cole Bros. Circus, Lew-e the Clown, is offering free interactive 30-minute shows at local schools and communities on April 30 & May 1. Contact Randy Hales at 573-776-8931 to schedule a performance for your community.

Advanced ticket purchase is the best way to support the Optimist club.  Tara’s Gifts & Parties, 10 Annapolis St., West Annapolis, 410-295-5157, is selling tickets, or go online to www.gotothecircus.com or www.tickets.com.  There are two shows daily, 4:30 and 7:30PM.

130 years ago, William W. Cole brought the marvels of the day to towns across America including the most advanced technology of all:  incandescent light:  a glowing bulb powered by a steam engine, a seemingly impossible invention.  Today, with a dynamic new show commemorating its anniversary, the Cole Bros. Circus proves its enduring appeal.  Take a break from technology and watch the seemingly impossible happen before your eyes.   Enjoy the simple pleasure of going to the circus.
