Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman today released her recommendations for the Fiscal Year 2015 Operating and Capital Budgets, which include a property tax rate cut with no increase in service fees or new positions outside public safety.  The FY15 proposed budget focuses on continued improvement in the County’s business practices, processes and services during the upcoming fiscal year.

“This is a fiscally conservative budget that representsmy priorities to save taxpayers money, invest in public safety, maximize our reserve funds, put an end to years of structural debt, plan for our future, and improve service delivery and efficiencies throughout the County,” said County Executive Neuman.  “It focuses on the progress we have made during the past 14 months and the work we still have ahead of us to modernize our government and improve the public’s access to our services.”

The $1.3 billion Operating Budget and the $244 million Capital Budget must be approved by June 15.  The County Council will hold public hearings to discuss the departmental budgets over the next several weeks.
