Baysox 2013IMG_9956The Baysox got home runs from 3B Niuman Romero and 1B Christian Walker but it was not enough in an 8-5 loss on Saturday night.

Baysox starter Tyler Wilson struggled. After Romero hit his first home run of the year to right field in the first inning, Harrisburg went to work. The Senators put the leadoff man aboard in all four innings off of Wilson and they broke through in the second inning with two runs.

A walk and a double for 1B Matt Skole put runners on second and third with no outs in the third inning. Both runners would later score in the frame and the Senators led 4-1.

After Harrisburg starter Omar Peveda retired nine of the first ten batters faced, the Baysox put together a quick rally. Romero singled on a breaking ball and Walker launched his 12th home run of the year. This time a drive to left field that tied him for the league lead in home runs and pushed the Baysox within 4-3.

Consecutive Harrisburg doubles opened the fourth however and the Senators led 6-3 to the fifth inning. Prior to the sixth inning the rains came. Two separate showers created a two hour and 12 minute rain delay. When action returned Bowie nearly came all the way back.

C Michael Ohlman tripled home two runs to make it 6-5 in the seventh inning with one down. Bowie could not bring Ohlman home though and Harrisburg plated two unearned runs in the bottom of the inning for an 8-5 lead.
