Woodwind 07-03-09 (25)As part of the public sunset cruises, Monday through Thursday in the summer, the Schooner Woodwind has special themed nights; on Mondays, guests enjoy a historically guided cruise. On Tuesdays guests can sample beer from our featured brewery, in June they will have a representative from Heavy Seas Brewery onboard to lead a beer tasting. Wednesday night guests are a part of the action while the two identical schooners participate in the Annapolis Yacht Club’s Wednesday Night Sailboat races with over 100 other boats. And on Thursdays they have live music performed by acoustic musicians. This month look for The Roadside Show, Mike and Kelly Lange, Eastport Oyster Boys, and Dirk Schwenk playing onboard.

They also have some wonderful special event cruises coming up. On June 8 they have a wine tasting cruise featuring wines from the Tuscan region of Italy. This relaxing cruise includes four samples of wine each paired with a delicious appetizer morsel. After the tasting there will be an appetizer buffet as well as additional wine (and beer) available for purchase. The menu can be viewed online and tickets are available now.

On June 15th celebrate with dad on the annual Father’s Day Brunch. The boats will sail from 10am – 1pm and the cruise includes a delicious brunch and one free Bloody Mary or Mimosa with adult tickets. On June 22  a special acoustic brunch sail will feature Gareth Asher. This will be a wonderful intimate performance onboard the Woodwind and will include a light lunch and cash bar.

Finally, June closes out with  Brews in the Breeze lunch cruise on June 29. This is a fun sail from 12:30-3 that includes beer tasting and a wonderful menu featuring Chesapeake Bay favorites. All menus, info, and tickets can be purchased online.
