Police investigating shooting at Ferndale Royal Farms

shootingOn May 3, 2014 at approximately 1:12 a.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the Royal Farms store located at the 7200 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard for a report of a shooting that had just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 20 year old male from Severn, who was suffering from multiple gun shot wounds.  Preliminary investigation shows that the victim and suspect became involved in an altercation, and at some point the victim was shot.

The suspect was described as a black male, who fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.  Several officers including a K-9 and Aviation Unit canvassed the area for the suspect but had negative results.

The victim was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment.  At this time, the victim’s injuries appear to be non-life threatening.  Detectives believe this to be targeted incident.
