Creating Communities to host arts conference (May 9, 2014)

CreatingCommunitiesCreating Communities, the leading arts service organization in Anne Arundel County, will host the “Power of the Arts” Conference Friday May 9, 2014, 8:30am-4:00pm, the Loews Annapolis Hotel, 126 West Street, Annapolis. The conference is open to the general public but in particular to those with an interest in arts advocacy, children’s education, community, and innovation. The keynote speaker and performer is Carolyn Surrick, internationally renowned musician and leader of Ensemble Galilei, who has worked extensively to bring the healing power of music to Wounded Warriors. There will be speakers and presenters from Arundel Lodge, Anne Arundel County Public Schools, Chesapeake Life Center and many more on the power of the arts for the clients the serveincluding at-risk youth and adults in recovery from mental illness. The cost of the conference is $52 and includes breakfast, a full seated lunch, all workshops, performances and CEU credits.
