Man shot overnight in Annapolis

shootingUPDATE:  The Annapolis Police Department has issued the following statement:

On Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2:50 am, officers responded to the area of W. Washington St and Town Pines Ct for a report of a shooting.  Upon officers arrival, they located the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder.  The victim was transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma with non- life threatening injuries.  The victim is not being identified until family members have been notified.  This incident is being actively investigated the Criminal Investigation Section.

Emergency crews were called to the Timothy House apartments early this morning for a shooting.

The call came in shortly before 3am for a man shot in the back at the 29 W. Washington Street apartment complex. Timothy House is a 60-unit apartment complex for renters seeking subsidized housing assistance.

Initially a Maryland State Police helicopter was dispatched and was later canceled when circumstances dictated that the patient be transferred to the closest medical facility.

The Annapolis Police Department has not release any statement on this incident yet; and we will update accordingly when they do.
