This event is part of the Great Give, a 24-hour countywide online giving campaign running from 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 7 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, and organized by the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County.
For over 40 years, the Samaritan House has worked with men struggling with substance abuse. Commonly known as a halfway house, Samaritan House is a state certified community-based residential treatment and rehabilitation facility providing services for chemically dependent men in a supportive, chemical-free environment.
The Samaritan House recently launched a Campus of Recovery expansion plan that would add beds, services and meeting venues.
“If you keep up with local news at all you know that our area is dealing with an epidemic of substance abuse,” said Kirk Noonan, president of the Samaritan House board of directors. “We always have a waiting list of men desperate for the services we provide. If we can add more beds, we can help more men rebuild their lives, families and careers.”
Donations in any amount are appreciated. For example, $25 will help provide a safe bed and meals for a night. Your gift of $55 will secure a full day of sober living services. A $150 donation can secure a safe bed and food for a week, while $360 will provide a full week of sober living services for a client.
