Les-Mis-PosterBroadneck High School will be presenting Les Miserables on Thursday, April 24th. The student produced program will directly benefit a local sucice awareness group–Youth Suicide Awareness Action Team.  The performance will be at the Chesapeake Arts Center in Brooklyn Park at 7pm.  Tickets are available in advance or at the door.

In 2008, in the wake of a devastating string of youth suicides the Anne Arundel County Partnership for Children, Youth & Families spearheaded the founding of a community-based collaborative of citizens, county agencies and other child-serving organizations to address this issue on a broad scale.

This group, now known as the Youth Suicide Awareness (YSA) Action Team, meets monthly and is over 90 individuals strong with representation from over 37 county and community agencies and organizations.

The YSA’s vision is to educate and empower the community to prevent youth suicide and eliminate its stigma by providing support, services and resources that promote optimal mental health and resiliency in children and families.
