Tobin Craig, professor, James Madison College, Michigan State University, will give a lecture titled “The Place of ‘Technology’ in Bacon’s Critique of Ancient Philosophy” at St. John’s College. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium on Friday, April 11 at 8 p.m.
Focusing on Francis Bacon’s “New Organon,” the lecture will consider the various ways in which the manipulation of nature figures in Bacon’s effort to replace or refound the Aristotelian tradition of natural philosophy.
