Voices for Africa benefit concert is a ticketed event and will involve dancers, instrumentalist, and local and national recording artist from the Baltimore and Washington D.C. area.Tickets are $25.00 and the evening will be filled with exciting entertainment and fundraising. All money raised will benefit the education project sponsored by Friends of Togo Outreach.
The featured artists will be Chelsey Green and the Green Project, Cassia the Poet, Shannon Wright Dulin, Tim & Shalese Sabb, Charm City Dancers, Soulful Praise Dancers, and S- Dee Last year, Friends of Togo Outreach and our partner TKM, The Kingdom Ministry, was able to send 86 Togolese children to school. These children had never attended school before. Not only were their school fees paid for one year but each child also received two school uniforms, a new pair of shoes, notebooks and school supplies.
This year, our goal is not only to continue to pay the school fees for the 86 children from last year but to also send no less than 100 more children to school for the 2014-2015 academic year.

The Singing Sons of Abraham from First Tabernacle of Baltimore, Maryland, developed their unique style of vocalization more than 40 years ago. Over the years, the brethren, under the direction of Charles W. Harris, Larry Johnson and Jacob Carey, I, Musical Directors, the group added an array of arrangements, as well as new original songs to their inspirational repertoire of “a cappella” singing. The group also performs contemporary secular songs for occasions such as weddings and private parties, as well as for state and city political functions or events. They have performed locally at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, the Lyric, Arena Playhouse, and are favorites at colleges and universities along the east coast.
Jays, The Platters, Harvey and the Moon Glows and many, many others from the above eras.
As members of First Tabernacle of Baltimore, Maryland, located at 1606 Ashland Avenue, their local pastor, former Musical Director of the group, is Evangelist-at-Large Dr. Charles W. Harris. The group’s current Musical Director is Jacob Carey, II who accepted the position after his father, Jacob Carey, I, retired in 2013. In 2008, the group launched their first CD “Try Everyday.” It is a collection of their favorite gospel and inspirational songs sung “a capella.”

For the last four years, the Sunset Drama Club has been proud to make the Chesapeake Arts Center the home for their shows. The C.A.C. is a professional theater to allow these shows to truly come to life!
The Sunset Drama Club is under direction of Mr. Jason Shaw. Ms. Susan Wittek, kindergarten, s the choreographer. Ms. Carly Anonsen, second grade is an assistant. Mr. Keoni Hutton, Coast Guard volunteer, is the Stage Manager. With the help of these talented Sunset Drama Club staff and children performing, they will bring Seussical Jr. to the Chesapeake Arts Center.
