It’s back and the folks at the Rams Head are being pretty tight lipped about the lineup. But save the date for the Return of Silopanna! If you follow them on Twitter, you may have seen this nugget last week.
Testing, testing… 1, 2, 3. Is this thing on?

Rams Head has announced that Saturday, August 16, 2014 is the date; and once again, the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds will play host to the event.
The festival came about after the Annapalooza Festival fell apart. Rams Head came in, took the reins and put together an incredible lineup for 2011….
- Matt & Kim
- Fitz & The Tantrums
- Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings
- Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue
- Jimmie’s Chicken Shack
- Harper Blynn
- Pasadena
- All Mighty Senators
- Grilled Lincolns
- Deep River
- Pressing Strings
- Bond & Bentley
- Sweet Leda
- Jarflys
- Pandomonia
- The Sam Grow Band
- Lazerlibby
- Mike Mchenry Tribe
- Tobias Russell
- Cris Jacobs of the Bridge
But that festival was not to be. Hurricane Irene came up the Chesapeake Bay and the organizers were forced to cancel the event due to the storm.
In 2012, everyone crossed their fingers and aside from a brief thunderstorm, Silopanna 2012 went off without a hitch with an equally impressive lineup…
- Cake
- Citizen Cope
- G. Love & Special Sauce
- Yuna
- Robert Randolph & The Family Band
- J Roddy Walston & the Business
- Joe Pug
- School Of Rock
- Jimmie’s Chicken Shack
- Audra Mae
- Pasadena
- Stiletto
- Grilled Lincolns
- Sun Club
- Pressing Strings
- Bond & Bentley
- Sweet Leda
- Swampcandy
- Jarflys
- Tobias Russell
- Sun Club Band
2013 rolled around and due to some significant scheduling conflicts with bands and the newly minted Firefly Festival in June, Silopanna never materialized. But here we are in 2014 all we can say is WELCOME BACK!
Save the date–August 16th. Of course, check back here for all the latest, but be sure to follow the festival on their website, on Twitter and on Facebook!
Hopefully the lineup will include some of the great local talent from our high schools. In the past, they have featured (or planned to feature) winners of the annual Battle of the Bands–as for my vote…. Chasing Verity–check them out!
Who would you like to see play the festival this year!
And for those who don’t know….Silopanna is Annapolis spelled backwards–just like the road!
