Linda West, Anne Arundel County executive Laura Neuman’s director of communication will be leaving her position in mid April.

County executive Laura Neuman and Linda West both confirmed this to Eye on Annapolis in a phone call earlier this morning.

West was presented with a offer from the federal government which she will accept. It is unknown when her last date with the county will be, however she will be taking some time off before assuming her new position with the federal government.

In a phone call this morning, West said, “it is a wonderful opportunity, and I am very excited to be able to work on the campaign for Laura as she is the best candidate for county executive.”

Of the departure, Neuman said, “In a sense I am not surprised. Many people that I have worked with have gone on to bigger and better things and this is a wonderful opportunity for Linda.”

Here is no word on a replacement.
