Another exciting season of baseball begins in less than one month and the Bowie Baysox announce today the premium giveaways and celebrity appearances that will be part of the 2014 promotional schedule. The full promotional schedule will follow Tuesday.
Headlining the 2014 season are appearances by “Mountain Man” from the A&E hit show Duck Dynasty presented by Miss Utility and Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marlon Brown presented by 105.7 The Fan. Famous Marylander and X Games legend Travis Pastrana will also be memorialized with a Baysox bobblehead along with the special “Manny Claus” Machado bobblehead giveaway during the Christmas Eve in July Celebration.
“There are a number of new and exciting events scheduled for 2014 that fans aren’t going to want to miss,” said Baysox Marketing Director Brandan Kaiser. “This year, we worked hard to think of fresh ideas for giveaways and theme nights that will make every Baysox game a unique and enjoyable experience. Fans of the show Duck Dynasty are not going to want to miss their chance to meet ‘Mountain Man’ at the ballpark.”
Fans will have a chance to honor the Armed Forces Friday, August 15 with a Military Heroes baseball card set giveaway presented by the Washington Post. Through voting held on the Baysox website early in the season, fans will have the opportunity to nominate friends and family who served in the military to appear on the card set. The Baysox have also scheduled a number of other giveaway items for baseball fans, including a Manny Machado insulated jersey lunch bag presented by the City of Bowie and a Baysox knit beanie cap on Fan Appreciation Day.
Wrestling fans will want to come out Wednesday, August 20 during a game against the Reading Fightin Phils when the Baysox annual Legends of Wrestling Event returns with a guest appearance by Kurt Angle.
