Mayor Michael Pantelides announced that Acting City Manager Virginia Burke submitted her resignation on Monday, March 10.
Ms. Burke became the Acting City Manager in January of this year, after City Manager Michael Mallinoff was let go. Burke has been with the City since April of 2004 when she worked as the Chief of Comprehensive Planning. Most recently, she was named Assistant City Manager in January of 2013.
“Virginia brought expertise and institutional knowledge to this position,” Mayor Pantelides said. “She stepped in as Acting City Manager and served the city well. She will be missed and I wish her success in her future endeavors.”
Her last day will be Friday March 21.
“It has been my great pleasure and privilege to serve the City of Annapolis these last nine years,” Burke said.
A replacement has not been named.
