Become James Bond for a while at the Annapolis Rotary Gala

A nine-day James Bond adventure for two in European secret locations will be up for bid at the Black Tie and Diamonds Gala by the Rotary Club of Annapolis. The trip is just one of six that guests can claim with winning bids at the 11th annual benefit from 6 to 11 p.m. March 1 at Loews Annapolis Hotel, 126 West St.

James BondIn addition, the American Fundraising Foundation will auction off:

■ A trip to San Francisco and the Wine Country of California.

■ An adventure in Costa Rica.

■ The wonders of Paris and the wine region of France.

■ The beautiful Isle of Capri in the Mediterranean.

■ A photo safari of the wildlife of Kilimanjaro in Africa.

Zachary’s Jewelry has donated a pair of 1 carat diamond stud earrings set in 14 kt. white gold settings for the live auction. More than 40 items including more jewelry, overnight hotel stays, massages, gift certificates, and restaurant meals will be available at the silent auction.

The Black Tie and Diamonds Gala benefits the YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, with proceeds to be used for its domestic and sexual abuse services. Since the event started in 2004, the Rotary Club of Annapolis has raised more than $500,000 for local charities.

Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dancing to the music by the energetic band Nightlife, the silent and live auctions, and a presentation by the YWCA. A raffle for an iPad Air also will be held.
