University Of Cairo Professor To Lecture On Dante’s Ontology At St. John’s College

stjohnsUniversity of Cairo philosophy professor Graham Harman will give a lecture titled “Dante’s Ontology: What the Florentine Poet Can Teach Contemporary Philosophers” at St. John’s College. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium on Friday, February 21 at 8 p.m.

Harman graduated from St. John’s College, Annapolis and received his master’s from Pennsylvania State University and his doctorate from DePaul University, Chicago. He is the 2009 winner of the AUC Excellence in Research and Creative Endeavors Award. Harman is the author of nine books, the editor of the Speculative Realism book series at Edinburgh University Press, and (with Bruno Latour) co-editor of the New Metaphysics book series at Open Humanities Press.
