Shoplifter tries to stab Sears employee, escapes

pressimageOn 02-26-2014, at approximately 2:14 p.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the Sears Store at the Marley Station Mall, 7900 Ritchie Highway South in Glen Burnie for a reported Check Subject call.

Upon arrival, officers met with an employee, who said after they detained a person for shoplifting, he displayed a knife to the employees. In an attempt to flee the store, the suspect swung the knife at one of the employees which resulted in a small laceration to his head. The suspect then fled from the store in an awaiting vehicle. The store employee was treated on scene by responding medical personnel. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30’s, 5’08” to 5’10” with a medium build, fair complexion with black short hair and unshaven wearing navy blue jeans/pants, blue/red/white plaid shirt, black shoes, black Orioles baseball cap.
