Broadneck To Present Les Misérables

Les_Miz_colorThe Music Dept. of Broadneck High School will present Les Misérables (student edition) on Thursday, Feb. 13 through Saturday, Feb. 15 at Broadneck High School.  The production has a 50-member cast and will be accompanied by a live pit orchestra.  The director is Emily Cory, with musical director Andrew Lincoln and chorographer Vanessa Pearson.

Showtimes are 7 PM on Thursday, Friday , and Saturday evening, with a 2PM matinee on Saturday.

Tickets ar $11 for General Admission and $8 for children and seniors.  Ticket orders ar now being taken and order forms ar available through the Broadneck High School website homepage (www.broadnick.org).

One of the most popular musicals of all times, the show is set around the French Revolution and tells the powerful tale of hope, redemption, and love with music that is grand and uplifting.  The show will include fan favorite numbers such as “I Dreamed A Dream,”  “On My Own,” and “One Day More.”

Les Misérables by Victor Hugo is one of the greatest novels of the 19th century. From Wikipedia: Examining the nature of law and grace, the novel elaborates upon the history of France, the architecture and urban design of Paris, politics, moral philosophy, antimonarchism, justice, religion, and the types and nature of romantic and familial love. Les Misérables has been popularized through numerous adaptations for the stage, television, and film, including a musical and a film adaptation of that musical.
