Alert Cops Make Drug Bust In Harbour Center

On February 2, 2014, at approximately 1:39 p.m., Southern District Officers working the Heroin Overdose Prevention and Eradication “HOPE” initiative checked a vehicle occupied at the Harbour Center in Annapolis. Officers recovered paraphernalia and a large amount of money from the vehicle occupants. A check of one of the subjects revealed an Extended Stay of America key card.

As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives responded to a room at the Extended Stay of America located in the unit block of Womack Drive in Annapolis. Detectives smelled the odor of suspected marijuana emanating from the room. Detectives were able to secure the room and a subsequent search was conducted resulting in the recovery of the following from the room:

  • 8.2 grams of suspected heroin
  • 14.0 grams of suspected marijuana
  • 19 tablets of oxycodone hydrochloride
  • $2,096 in U.S. currency

Suspect #1: Carlos Dewayne Abney Jr., 25, of Annapolis, Md

Suspect #2: Lauren Zhane Surgeon, 18, of Annapolis, Md

Suspect #3: William Hunter Hardesty, 26, of Riva, Md

Suspect #4: Devonte Rishard Long, 21, of Annapolis, Md
