After four long nights of competition at Jammin’ Java, four bands won their rightful spots to battle in Jammin’ Java’s 10th annual Band Battle on February 28th. You can buy your tickets here.
The Christian Lopez Band & Joe Taxi
With boundless energy, beautiful vocals, and crazy riffs, it was no surprise that they won. Their banjo player paired with Joe Taxi provided the crowd with a foot-stomping good time. The band seemed to be on the same wavelength, with well-rehearsed rests and perfect vocal harmonies. The Christian Lopez Band & Joe Taxi is definitely a band to watch.
Don’t let their young ages fool you. CODA rocked the stage with jaw-dropping high notes, astounding guitar riffs, and great bass. These high-schoolers rocked their hearts out, earning them a place in the final four.
The third night brought a different genre to the table. Beggars Made Believers was a Christian rock group jam-packed with inspiring songs and meaningful lyrics. Their great vocals and audience interaction quickly won over both the crowd and the judges.
DTMG was the last band to secure a spot in Jammin’ Java’s Band Battle. They packed the stage with instruments and members, including two female backup vocalists, harmonicas, saxophone, piano, and yes- even cow bell. DTMG played a funky cover of I Don’t Want To Be, and the saxophonist even jumped into the crowd during a solo.
All four bands are drastically different, but equally enjoyable. They will all be competing on February 28th at the Jammin’ Java to win $2,500 cash, recording time, a music video, and other goodies. Tickets can be bought here: . Come out to support your favorite band!
