Arundel Mills Shoplifter Sprays Crowd With Pepper Spray.  More than two dozen people were injured Sunday afternoon after a shoplifting incident at Arundel Mills Mall quickly escalated, according to police. Officers said a manager of the Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse inside the mall confronted Cierra Scott as she tried to walk out with a stolen pair of boots, and that’s when Scott started using pepper spray.

Man Charged In Several Armed Robberies.  Anne Arundel County police have arrested a man who they said is responsible for several robberies in November. Edmond Jarrod Riggs, 35, of Upper Marlboro, was charged Friday with 35 counts including robbery, assault, handgun violations and thefts. Police said Riggs is tied to five separate crimes and he might be connected to even more.

Police: Man Posed As Officer In Attempted Robbery.  Anne Arundel County police are searching for a man who they said posed as a police officer in an attempted robbery of a woman. County police said officers were called to the Extended Stay America hotel in the 1500 block of Aero Drive in Linthicum shortly before midnight Friday. Police said a 21-year-old woman told them that a man wearing a police vest and a holstered gun demanded money from her. When she told the man she didn’t have any money, she said he dragged her to the parking lot, where she was able to get away and get help from hotel employees.

Dog Lost For 9 Days Reunited With Severn Family.  After surviving nine days in the Maine wilderness, Dempsey, a 1-year old boxer, is recovering from subzero temperatures, getting hit by a car and most likely having no food. Friday he was reunited with his family. Janet Boothby’s daughter, Jamie Cyrway, and her kids were visiting from Maryland, staying in North Anson to visit family.
