Police Seek Help In 2 Robberies

Anne Arundel County Police are asking the public for help in identifying two suspects in separate robberies.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, LINTHICUM

Attempt Robbery 1.11.14On Thursday, January 9, 2014, at approximately 11:49 p.m., officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Northern District responded to the Extended Stay America hotel located at 1500 Aero Drive in Linthicum, Maryland in for a reported attempt theft from a citizen.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 21-year-old female victim, who stated that a black male suspect, wearing a Police vest knocked at her door.  When she opened the door the suspect, who was wearing a holstered gun demanded money from her. When the female advised she did not have any money in her room, the suspect attempted to drag the victim out to the parking lot.

The victim was able to free herself and report the incident to hotel personnel, who in turn called the police.  The suspect fled in a dark colored four door vehicle, unknown make and model. Officers searched the area with negative results.

We do not believe this to be a random incident. The female had an ad on the Backpage.com website soliciting escort services so therefore it is believed that the suspect targeted the victim specifically from the ad.

Suspect:  Suspect unknown black male pictured.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Detective J.R. Hartzell #895 of the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 410-222-3460 or contact Metro Crime Stoppers.
