Colando Colbert, 18, of Annapolis and about nine others entered the business and started taking items from the store. When the employee confronted Colbert, Colbert threatened him and tapped his jacket pocket insinuating he had a weapon. Colbert was wearing a white surgical mask, but the employee recognized Colbert by his voice.
The group took 10 to 12 full boxes of candy, 5 to 6 full boxes of Slim Jims, and an unknown number of cigars and cigarillos. The total loss to the business was $800 to $1,000.
Officers located Colbert at his residence and recovered several KitKat candy bars from the arm of his jacket. Colbert was charged with armed robbery, theft from $1,000 to under $10,000, theft less than $1,000, and false imprisonment. He is being held on $6,500 bond. The investigation into the identity of the others involved continues and anyone with information is asked to call Det. Jon-Paul Hipsky at 410-268-9000 ext. 7277 or [email protected].
