City Awards More Than $100K To Light House

LightHouseAnnapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides announced that the Light House Shelter (Light House Inc.) will receive a total of $118,150.00 in local and state grants.

“The Light House Shelter’s operation and construction costs are both addressed through these grants,” Mayor Pantelides said.  “I know the money will continue to serve those in need and continue to provide shelter, food, clothing and empowerment services.”

A Capital Grant from the City for $25,000 will help defer construction and improvement costs to the Light House Shelter, located at 10 Hudson Street in Annapolis.

A Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) in the amount of $93,150.00 will support homeless assistance administered by the Shelter. The ESG was awarded to Annapolis, through a competitive application process, and is one of several Federal funding programs administered by the DHCD through the Division of Neighborhood Revitalization.  The Department of Planning and Zoning, through a partnership with the Light House Shelter, secured the DHCD grant.
