2 Shot In Violent Night In Annapolis

Two men have been shot in Annapolis overnight.  Police have not yet issued a statement on either incident, but one shooting occurred in the Harbor House community along President Street in the City’s Eastport section and the other on Silopanna Road. Earlier this month, the Annapolis Police Department announced a new program to combat the increasing crime in the public housing communities with a focus on the Eastport Terrace and Harbor House.

Harbor House Shooting

One man is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries this morning after being shot multiple times in the 900 block of President Street in the Harbor House community in the Eastport section of the city.

Police received multiple calls around 1am this morning and are actively seeking 3 suspects who fled the scene on foot. Initially the victim was scheduled to be transported to Shock Trauma, but due to the severity of his injuries, was taken to the nearest medical center–AAMC.

From witnesses on the scene, the man was shot at least 11 times and the weapon is believed to be a 9mm.

Second Shooting On Silopanna

Earlier, police and medics responded to a shooting in the unit block of Silopanna Road for a man shot in the arm and transported to Shock Trauma. Initial reports indicate that this was related to a robbery near the rear of Bates Middle School and the Chesapeake Children’s Museum. Two black males are being sought and one is believed to be armed with a handgun, and the other with an assault-style weapon.

More details to follow when the Annapolis Police Department issues a statement.
