2-Alarm Fire Destroys Gambrills Garage

2 alarm fireCounty firefighters responded to a fire this morning in a detached garage that totally destroyed the building and multiple vehicles located inside. Calls began to be received around 11:40 a.m. reporting the incident in the 1600 block of Polly Place in Gambrills.

Upon arrival, firefighters reported a 40’x30’, 2-story garage totally involved in fire. Due to concerns regarding water supply, a 2nd Alarm was quickly requested bringing a total of 50 personnel from Anne Arundel County and Prince Georges County Fire Department.  The fire was brought under control in a little more than an hour however the building was a total loss.

The fire caused approximately $400,000 in total damages to the garage, vehicles and equipment.  The cause of the fire is undetermined and remains under investigation and no injuries were reported.
