Police Lieutenant Fredericks Running For Delegate In South County

James FredericksJim Fredericks announces his candidacy as a Republican for State Delegate, District 30B, in southern Anne Arundel County. He is a life-long resident of the county and lives in Tracys Landing with his wife and three children. Jim is a 21-year veteran of the county police department and a graduate of Anne Arundel Community College. He is a dedicated public servant who hopes to take his in-depth knowledge of community issues to the State House to continue his service to the citizens of Anne Arundel County.

Jim is a product of the public school system and attended Old Mill High School, where he met his wife of 26 years. The Fredericks’ two boys attend the University of Maryland at College Park, and their daughter is a senior at Southern High School, where Jim is a cross country running coach. The family attends Friendship United Methodist Church, and Jim volunteers his time there in community outreach and high school youth programs.

Jim is a past president of the Police Supervisors Association, and during that time, he acquired considerable knowledge in dealing with county government. He is currently a lieutenant in the police department, with a host of training and management experience. Jim’s past assignments in management and supervision include criminal investigation, traffic safety, media relations, and emergency management.

Jim’s goal is to take a common sense approach to community issues, to include reducing the heavy tax burdens placed upon citizens and business owners, providing for the education of our children, protecting and restoring the Chesapeake Bay, looking out for our veterans, and keeping communities safe.

The campaign kick-off will be held at The Greene Turtle in Edgewater on Thursday, January 30, 2014.
