Roundz CookiesLove watching shows like “Chopped” or “Master Chef?”  Listen up!

Roundz Gourmet is offering a wonderful culinary experience for adults, youth and children.  Join us for a light-heated cooking competition geared towards families and friends.  We are accepting reservations for up to four 2-member teams (adult paired with youth/child) who will work under the direction of award-winning Chef Zachary Pope to create a tasty dish suitable for the family dinner table.

Here’s how it works: after a tour and tutorial at the Roundz kitchen, Chef will reveal his “mystery ingredient” and teams will have a set amount of time to plan, prepare and plate a menu item featuring that ingredient.  When time expires, Chef will select a winner and all participants will sample the foods.  The winning team will receive a family gourmet dinner prepared by Chef Pope.

Are we looking for “fantasy” foods or haute gourmet?  No way!  Teams should prepare something they would serve for a family dinner…but flair is always welcome! Previous “mystery ingredients” have been ground beef, pasta, chicken…you get the idea.  Chef Pope will work with teams during competition, offering advice and guidance.

This special Chef’s Challenge is open to all ages, but children must be paired with a parent or adult guardian.  The entry fee is $50 per team.  See photos from previous competitions at www.roundz.com, under “Chef’s Challenge.”

The competition will be held in the exhibition kitchen at Roundz Gourmet, 2299 Johns Hopkins Road in Gambrills.  Reservations can be made by calling 443.292.4631.
