Jukebox Argument Leads To Annapolis Stabbing

On December 26, 2013, at 12:45am, Martin Marroquin Rodriguez, 34, of Annapolis and the adult male victim got in an argument at a restaurant in the1300 block of Forest Drive, about music playing on a jukebox.

When the victim was walking home he was approached by Marroquin Rodriguez who gave him a hug. While hugging him Marroquin Rodriguez stabbed him in the stomach.

A friend of the victim was also injured by a second subject who was with Marroquin Rodriguez.

Demesio Portillo Lopez, 41, of Annapolis assaulted the friend with a sharp object that cut his clothing and caused a small laceration on the man’s abdomen. The first victim was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma and had to go straight into surgery. The second victim refused medical treatment.

Marroquin Rodriguez is charged with attempted first and second degree murder, first and second degree assault, dangerous weapon with intent to injure, and reckless endangerment. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.

Portillo Lopez is charged with first and second degree assault and dangerous weapon with intent to injure. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
