Running in the Santa Speedo Run is fun. Running a 5K or a 10K takes some work. A marathon take some major commitment. But running across the country takes something else entirely.

Jamie Summerlin, a former Corporal in the US Marine Corps did just that last year to bring attention and funds to the needs of our returning veterans. It is only fitting that Jamie be a part of the festivities surrounding the Military Bowl in Annapolis next week. In Jamie’s run across America, he spent 100 days on the road–and one of those days landed him at the 50 yard line of the Unites States Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis.

On Thursday morning, he will leave from Shephersdtown, WV from the store that donated his first set of shoes for his run. 101 miles later, 100 miles PLUS the extra mile, at 7:30am on Friday, he will arrive at the 50 yard line where the Military Bowl will kick off later that afternoon. You can follow and track his run live.

Jamie is raising money to support services for our returning veterans.  Please become familiar with his story:

We are waiting to hear how the public can participate in the run. Later this week, we will know if the public can join Jamie in running his final mile into the stadium.  More info to come!
