For the 12th year in a row, the Army Black Knights have had to sing their Alma Mater first at the end of the annual Army-Navy football game. While many felt that it was Army’s year, it was not to be and Navy chalked up their 12 consecutive victory over Army and set another record as well. 3rd Class Midshipman (sophomore) quarterback Keenan Reynolds broke the record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a season–29. He also holds the record for touchdowns in a single game (7) when Navy bested San Jose State several weeks ago.
This year was the 114th playing of the iconic game often dubbed “America’s Game,” and was the first ever played in snow despite it being held in the Northeast in December. The game started out with flurries in Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field and then progressed to a full on snowstorm, before ending with a driving wet rain as the Navy Midshipmen sang the Blue & Gold.
