Hospice Welcomes Two To Leadership Team

Hospice of the Chesapeake announced today a new Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer have joined the leadership team headquartered at 90 Ritchie Highway.

Ben Marcantonio, MS, M.Ed., LMFT, joined the nonprofit as Chief Operating Officer in April, bringing with him 25 years of leadership experience in education, healthcare and social services. Prior to his new role, Marcantonio served as Chief Administrative Officer at San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine. Marcantonio has an extensive background in working with multidisciplinary clinical and management teams in a variety of educational and clinical settings.

Marcantonio holds a Master’s of Science in counseling from San Diego State University, a Master’s of Education in administrative leadership from the University of San Diego, and a Bachelor’s of Sacred Theology and Philosophy from the Gregorian University in Rome, Italy.

Ed Schneider joined Hospice of the Chesapeake in October as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer.   Prior to joining the nonprofit, Schneider was the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Annapolis Bancorp (BankAnnapolis).  Previous to that role, he was the Controller and Chief Accounting Officer for CitiFinancial Branch Network.  Schneider brings his knowledge of capital planning, asset/liability and financial management to the Hospice of the Chesapeake’s leadership team.

Schneider earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Allegheny College and his MBA from Rutgers University.
