Holiday Sale flyer 2013Just in time for the holidays,  Providence Center, a non-profit organization based in Anne Arundel County that serves adults with developmental disabilities, announced today the launch of its online store for its products.  The store is located at www.providencecenter.com/providence-products and includes a selection of items from the organization’s Pottery Studio, Woodshop, and art program.  The items are made by adults with developmental disabilities who attend Providence Center and each individual earns a paycheck for the work produced and sold, assisting them in gaining greater independence in their lives.

This is a new endeavor for Providence Center, which sells its products at several of the organization’s locations in Anne Arundel County and with retail partners throughout the region.  The online store will allow customers to easily purchase the products through a secure portal and have them shipped directly to them or to give as a gift.

“We are very excited to launch our e-commerce site,” Providence Center CEO Chuck Coble said in a statement today.  “This will allow us to market our products to a wider audience, better empower those we serve, and assist us as we build new avenues of support for the important work we do at Providence Center.  I hope that all of those who call us, email us, and visit us looking for our products will visit the store at providencecenter.com and purchase our products that truly benefit so many – the giver, receiver, the artist, potter, and woodworker, and an organization that is dedicated to improving lives and our communities by helping those we serve chart their own path in life.”

The site features holiday cards designed by artists in Providence Center’s art program, the best-selling children’s Adirondack chairs in a variety of colors, and items from its blue crab pottery line.

Providence Center also kicks off this week its annual holiday sales at its greenhouses at 370 Shore Acres Road in Arnold.  The attached flyer details the holiday hours.  Trees, poinsettias, wreaths, and roping are being offered as well as pottery and wood items.

Providence Center, a non-profit organization based in Anne Arundel County, operates four program sites which provide care and training in programs such as Supported Employment, Horticulture, Woodshop, and Pottery throughout the county.  It meets the growing needs of nearly 500 individuals through an array of services and supports, including job preparedness and training, mentoring, therapeutics support, production programs, employment coaching, senior care, and day habilitation.

The mission of Providence Center is to provide services that allow individuals with disabilities to enjoy increased self-determination in leading a more independent, valuable and functioning role in society. These support services are individually designed and professionally managed to enable these individuals to exercise higher levels of control over their lives.
