FINAL UPDATE: Anne Arundel County Police have released the following statement on this afternoon’s standoff with a barricaded man in Arnold.
On December 4, 2013 at approximately1:00 p.m. officers responded to the 1000-block of Landon Lane for a report of a barricaded subject in a residence.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department used Reverse 911 calls, Nixle Alerts, Social Media and press to advise the community of this situation.
Upon arrival, officers determined that male was in the home by himself. He was in possession of a shotgun and he was threatening to harm himself. Officers from the Eastern District, Special Operations Division and the Conflict Negotiation Team responded.
Through extensive negotiations, the subject voluntarily exited the home at approximately 5:00 p.m. No one was harmed during this incident.
Criminal charges will not be filed.
UPDATE: At 5:12pm, Anne Arundel County Police have advised that the situation was resolved and the suspect is in custody.

Anne Arundel County Police are on the scene of a barricade situation in the 100 block of Landon Lane in the Shore Acres area of Arnold.
The person is reportedly armed. Details surrounding it are unclear, but officers have the area blocked off while negotiators attempt to resolve the situation. Police have sent an alert out to nearby residents to shelter in place until the situation is resolved.
