The AACC Dance Company, celebrating its 25th anniversary, presents, “Flying By the Seat of Our Pants,” at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Dec. 5-7, at the Robert E. Kauffman Theater in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts on the Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway.

Artistic Director Lynda P. Fitzgerald has choreographed two full company pieces for this performance. Reconstructed from 2008, “We’re Back!” is a light-hearted focus on one’s back, set to the classical music of Mozart. The second full-company piece, “Kitchen Sink” will make its premiere at this performance, using all the techniques Fitzgerald teaches. It’s a fast-and-crazy piece to the ragtime sound of Katzenjammer.

Several student choreographers are featured, with their pieces running the gamut between strong, light-hearted, dramatic, hip hop and very physical. Returning dancers, Anwar Thomas and Rachel Scaringe, both of Millersville, have choreographed a modern duet and Andre Hinds of Millersville has two pieces in the concert, a contemporary modern work and an intriguing group piece. Arrington Lassiter of Washington, D.C., has three pieces in the concert, a technically challenging solo, a men’s piece and a group piece. Kelsey Garrett of Severn has choreographed a solo and a light-hearted trio. Other student choreographers include: Robbie Dinsmore of Davidsonville, Evelyn Paddy of Centreville, Hannah LaFrance of Odenton, Tevin Williams of Brooklyn Park and Isabelle Jones of Annapolis.

Tickets are available through the AACC Theater Box Office at 410-777-2457 or [email protected].  Prices are $7 for AACC students with IDs; $10 for AACC faculty, staff, senior citizens and outside students; $15 for the general public. Be sure to alert the box office if special accommodations are needed.
