Woman Beaten, Car Missing After Home Invasion

homeinvasionOn December 3, 2013, at approximately 7:43 a.m., members of the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Western District responded to a residence in the 100 block of Chesapeake Mobile Court in Hanover for a report of home invasion robbery.

On scene officers spoke with the 65-year-old female victim, who reported that an unknown male suspect entered her home around 7:00 a.m. while she was sleeping on her couch. The suspect restrained the victim and demanded money and keys to her car. The suspect subsequently struck the victim with a blunt object then fled the scene in the victim’s car with an undisclosed amount of money. During the assault, the victim reported that the suspect implied that he had a weapon, but indicated that no weapon was actually observed. The victim was transported to an area hospital by emergency personnel for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Western District Detectives are actively investigating this incident. At this time, it is unclear if this was a random or targeted incident. The victim’s vehicle is described as a 2002 Hyundai Accent with Maryland plates DPB946.
