Pair Of Burglars Found Inside Wall Of Home

On November 30, 2013 at approximately 11:33 a.m. officers responded to 200 block of 4th Ave Baltimore, MD, for the report of a burglary in progress.

Upon my arrival officers spoke with the witness who advised he was the caretaker for the property. He advised he came to the residence today to clean the place when he heard voices coming from the second floor. At that time he called the police. It was confirmed through the homeowner that no one had the right to be inside of the property.

Officers arrived and while they were standing in the backyard of the residence they observed a female open the rear door to the residence. She was told to exit the residence and she immediately ran back in the house slamming and locking the door. Officers further observed a chair placed under a window that leads to the kitchen and the screen was missing.

Officers made entry into the home where they heard a male’s voice coming from the second floor. While searching the residence officers observed an approximate 2 foot by 2 foot hole in the dry wall with insulation covering the opening. An officer removed the insulation covering the hole and observed a female curled up in the fetal position.

A further search of the same hole revealed a male also in the fetal position. Both individuals were taken into custody and removed from the residence. The female was identified as Megan Ann Campbell, 28, of Linthicum and the male was identified as Harry Lee Young Jr., 37, of Baltimore. A search of Harry Young Jr. revealed a syringe with an orange cap located in his pocket. Young was also identified as the homeowner’s son. The homeowner did not allow him to be on the property.

Officers also observed multiple pieces of copper lying on the floor in the basement next to the water heater. The water heater had pieces of copper cut from the top. The homeowner advised that the last time they were at the residence they did not observe the pieces of copper missing.

Harry Lee Young Jr. and Megan Ann Campbell were both arrested and transported to Northern District for processing. Harry Young Jr. was charged with Breaking and entering in the 1st and 3rd degree and possession of paraphernalia. Campbell was charged with 1st and 3rd degree burglary and knowingly making a false statement to a peace officer.
