Pedestrian Struck In Glen Burnie

pedestrian accidentOn November 1, 2013, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers from the Traffic Safety Section responded to northbound Crain Highway, north of Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie for a report of a pedestrian crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian, Donald Wayne Warfield, was crossing northbound Crain Highway (from east to west), when he was struck by a 2005 Toyota Corolla.  The Toyota was being operated by James Raymond O’Leary Jr.  Anne Arundel County Paramedic 26 transported Mr. Warfield to Baltimore Washington Medical Center due to his injuries.  He is currently listed in critical condition.  The operator of the Toyota was not injured.

Preliminarily the primary cause of this crash is pedestrian error.  Excessive speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this crash.  The Traffic Safety Section will be completing the investigation.
