Six Flags America Fright Fest Now Open

sixflagsfrightSix Flags America is preparing to unleash the biggest Halloween event in the region. Fright Fest®, which is presented by Snickers®, promises 23 haunted attractions, including ten all-new frightful features. In addition to the park’s signature collection of thrill rides speeding through the dark of night, Six Flags America will introduce not one, but ten new Halloween haunts for 2013 – the park’s Biggest Fright Fest ever!

When the sun is up during Thrills by Day, the park will have a festive Fall-Harvest feel, with lots of friendly ghosts and ghouls for kids of all ages. With a total of nine family-friendly attractions and two all-new children’s attractions – Kids Halloween Dance Party and Stage Fright, featuring the magic of Joe Romano, there are plenty of thrills for the entire family. Younger guests, under 48 inches, are invited to enjoy the park in costume and take part in the Halloween Kids Costume Contest held each Saturday and Sunday at 5 p.m.

When the clock strikes 6 p.m. the park goes dark – as in creepy, crawly, scary dark. Beware of The Awakening, which launches Fright by Night and transforms the park into a wicked hunting ground for the undead. This year Fright by Night boasts fourteen attractions with eight all-new shows and events: The Awakening, The Haunting of Hall Manor, Twisted Fairy Tales 3D Haunted House, Spider Outbreak, Aftermath, Midnight Shift: A Stunt Terror, Dead Man’s Party, and Stage Fright Featuring the Magic of Joe Romano.

“Fright Fest is one of our favorite productions,” said Debbie Evans, marketing director for Six Flags America. “We’re able to showcase the great pool of talent at Six Flags America and provide our guests with the ultimate terrifying experience. We’ve been in pre-production for our 23 shows and events since early this year. With five new haunted houses including the Haunting of Hall Manor featuring Eleanor, our very own Six Flags ghost, we are taking terror to an all-new level.”

Back for a third season is the Wheel of Fright which will be the preshow for The Awaking. Each Saturday beginning at 5:30 p.m., three lucky guests will spin the wheel and eat one of the frightful delights: dog food, escargot, pickled eggs, wax worms, habanero peppers and new this year – Fright Fest Smoothie. For those brave souls who can choke down these disgusting eats, a variety of prizes, including four one day admission tickets for the 2014 season, will be the ultimate prize.

“This year’s Wheel of Fright will be hosted by Coven Six’s Pat LoJack and his lovey assistant Vanna Pyre,” said Evans. “We love to Go Big so we’re turning up the gross factor with our Fright Fest Smoothie, which is a noxious mix of all our ghoulish ingredients blended together. Guests love being part of the show and we are always surprised by what mortals are willing to consume.”

Fright Fest opens Saturday, September 28 and runs every Saturday and Sunday until October 27 with special Friday openings on October 18 and 25 at 5 p.m. for Fright by Night only. Many of the Fright by Night events are rated “two skulls” and are not recommended for guests under 13-years-old.

Six Flags America is now offering 2014 Season Passes at the lowest price of the year providing unlimited visits for the rest of the 2013 season (including Fright Fest) and all of the 2014 season. For a limited time, with the purchase of four or more Season Passes, guests will receive a free upgrade to a Gold Season Pass that includes free admission and free season parking at any Six Flags Theme Park. Annual Memberships, which include all of the great benefits of a Season Pass, are also available online for as low as $5.25 per monthly. Offer expires October 27, 2013.
