Deanna Bogart–Free Concert

Deanna+Bogart+0-1Friday Nites in Caroline presents a signature event free concert featuring The Deanna Bogart Band on Friday, November 8, 7:00 p.m. at North Caroline High School Auditorium.

Drawing on a variety of musical sources ranging from boogie-woogie to New Orleans R&B to swing to rock & roll, singer and barrelhouse pianist Deanna Bogart emerged as one of the most eclectic performers in contemporary blues. Blues music award winner and multi-instrumentalist singer songwriter Deanna Bogart has been a successful bandleader for over twenty years. Playing dazzling piano and soulful saxophone, her eclectic streak and style of adventurous “blusion” has garnered her numerous awards and accolades while touring throughout the US and abroad.

Opening for Bonnie Raitt at The Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival last May, Deanna Bogart has performed with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, James Brown, Little Feat, The Neville Brothers and Robert Cray amongst many others. Today, Deanna Bogart is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist and multifaceted musician whose fans value the diversity of her genre-free zone.  As a bandleader/singer/songwriter/producer/pianist/sax player, Deanna combines the best of boogie-woogie, contemporary blues, country and jazz.

Down Beat magazine describes Deanna Bogart as “an extravagant entertainer”– and entertain is what Bogart does best. The Baltimore-based blues and boogie pianist / saxophonist combines the energy of 1930’s style boogie piano blues with contemporary blues sounds emanating from places like New Orleans, Chicago and Memphis. “The goal when we play live,” says Bogart, “is to create a fusion of all these different musical styles with the blues and boogie genuinely at the core.”
