Theatre at AACC’s production of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” opens Nov. 8 for a two-weekend run in the Robert E. Kauffman Theater in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts on Anne Arundel Community College’s Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway.
Directed by Lars Tatom, Ph.D., coordinator of theater at Anne Arundel Community College, the play tells stories about a mischievous, but good-hearted boy growing up during the 1870s in a small town along the Mississippi River. AACC is using the play adapted from Mark Twain’s novel by Laura Eason.
The cast, composed almost entirely of AACC students, is being staged in an ensemble format. John Patterson of Hanover plays the lead role of Tom Sawyer, with Veronica Somers of Pasadena as Becky Thatcher and Erik W. Alexis of Millersville as Huck. Other ensemble members are Rashad Ferguson of Clinton, Vicki Gontzonlis of Annapolis, Justin Hargadon of Brooklyn Park, Leishka Jacome of Glen Burnie, Brandon Killian of Annapolis, Flavia Perrotta of Lanham, Lea Scherini of Annapolis, Reed Sigmon of Pasadena and Jerry Vess of Severna Park, AACC coordinator of events.
