Police Make Arrest In Armed Carjacking Case

Devin EvansOn October 28, 2013, at 6:28 a.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the 200 block of Allen Road in Glen Burnie for a carjacking that had just occurred.

The victim stated that that he was seated inside of his 2001 Chevy Tahoe at his residence when two male suspects armed with guns approached him, ordered him out of his vehicle and stole his vehicle. As officers were approaching the area, the Tahoe was observed traveling on Furnace Branch Road at a high rate of speed. Officers began to follow the Tahoe, which lost control and crashed on the exit ramp of 695 West onto Route 2 North. One of the suspects was taken into custody at the scene, but the second suspect fled on foot into the adjacent woods. An extensive search by patrol, K-9 and Aviation units failed to locate the suspect in the woods.  Evidence located in the vehicle included a loaded 9mm Hi Point carbine rifle along with a machete, hat, mask and other items that are being processed. The suspect was treated at Harbor Hospital and then transported to Northern District, where he was further processed and charged. An investigation into the identity of the second suspect is ongoing at this time. Anyone with information is asked contact the Robbery Unit at 410-222-3566.

Suspect #2: Black male in his late 20’s, 5’10”, 200 pounds with dark skin and short hair, wearing a dark, blue sweatshirt and light-colored jeans
