MarleyOn Friday, October 25, 2013, at approximately 10:57 a.m., officers from the Southern District responded to the 6000 block of Allwine Avenue in Deale a complaint of possible animal abuse.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the owner of a three-year-old Beagle/Boston Terrier mix named “Marley”, who indicated that he let his dog out into a wooded area adjacent to his house around 9:00 a.m., but the dog failed to return home. A short time later, the owner went to look for his dog and discovered his dog deceased approximately 20 yards into the wooded area behind his house. Officers with the assistance of District Detectives conducted a canvass of the neighborhood and the crime scene. The Evidence Collection Unit responded to assist with the collection of any evidence. Animal Control responded to take possession of the dog. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Southern District at 410-222-1960 or Metro Crime Stoppers.
