On October 23, 2013, Preston Lamont Scott II was arrested on a warrant. He was charged with multiple counts of Second Degree Child Abuse, Sex Abuse of a Minor, First, Second, Third and Fourth Degree Sex Offenses, Perverted Practice, Sodomy, and Child Pornography Filming Sex Act, stemming from an investigation that was initiated in August of 2013. During the course of the investigation, evidence was obtained that Scott had sexually abused two children known to him over a six year period. The identity, ages and relationship between Scott and the victims is not being released to protect their identity.
Preston Lamont Scott II had previously been an administrative member of the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Department, organizing their monthly teen dance fund raiser. At this time, there is no information that Scott had inappropriate contact with any child attending these dances. The leadership of the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Department is aware of Scott’s arrest and has been cooperative with the Police Department.
