Bertucci’s: Try A Menucci!

photo 1For no particular reason, I usually don’t review chain restaurants here, but after several lunches at Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant, I wanted to recommend what we think is a great place to eat!

In an effort to boost lunch business this summer, they offered specials and lunch deals that kept us coming in and now their fall campaign has begun. To begin, they offer unlimited salad (I’m talking about a full serving-size bowl of lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, onion, and black olives that can be refilled) with choice of dressing – we chose a house made non-fat chianti burgundy dressing served on the side and fresh baked rolls. If you haven’t had these rolls, you must! Then you add a Menucci (flatbread) or a focaccia sandwich. All of this for only $7.99!

Today, Paul and I both selected a roasted eggplant menucci. We have had it before and just couldn’t resist this favorite! A menucci is a smaller version of their signature brick oven pizza and is offered with different toppings. Other choices include pepperoni, Italian sausage, pesto chicken, and two varieties of just cheese.

photo 2The crust is thin, delicious and generously topped with a house made tomato sauce (slightly chunky), mozzarella cheese, along with yummy disks of oven roasted eggplant. We are really into veggies these days! The menucci is a little larger than single size and we both took home a couple of pieces to enjoy later!

In place of the menucci, you could choose from a variety of sandwiches on rosemary focaccia with a cup of soup! Sandwich selections include grilled rosemary chicken, grilled Portobello, meatball and grilled sausage and pepper, to name a few.

There is also a full lunch menu of other pizza, pasta, calzone, and specialty salad choices available until 3pm.

I must add that the service is outstanding. Our favorite server is Matt. Today when we arrived and asked for Matt, we were assigned to another server, also named Matt and he was just as wonderful and attentive!

Bertucci’s is located at 2207 Forest Drive, on the other side of Outback in the Forest Plaza Shopping Center. If you haven’t been to Bertucci’s lately, it’s worth another visit!
