Parole Eco Fair Tomorrow

SCCEcoFairFlyer2013revised3The Spa Creek Conservancy, a non-profit and all-volunteer organization committed to education, preservation, mitigation, and restoration of Spa Creek, is partnering with the Parole Community to raise awareness about pollution prevention and stormwater management.    Parole is located at the headwaters of Spa Creek and is a multi-ethnic community.

In partnership with Walter S. Mills-Parole Elementary School, Cecil Memorial Methodist Church, Bywater Boys and Girls Club, Mount Olive Community Development Corporation, and Mount Olive AME Church, within the Parole Community, we are having an Eco Fair on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, 4:30 to 6:30 PM, at the Mount Olive Community Center.  The Fair is designed to help promote environmental literacy through kids’ educational activities.   Participants will learn about stormwater runoff and will demonstrate green infrastructure technologies – like rain barrels and rain gardens – used to control runoff.

Walter S. Mills-Parole Elementary School students, their parents, the church community and others from the Parole community are invited to attend.   There will be a free raffle with great prizes.  Students at Mills-Parole Elementary participated in an environmental art contest and will be awarded prizes at the Eco Fair.

If you have any questions regarding the project itself, please contact Regina Rochez at [email protected] or (410) 267-0337.
