The Megaron Chamber Choir from Slovenia will give a free concert at 7:p.m. Oct. 4 at the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase St., Annapolis. World Artists Experiences presents the choir in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia.
Organized in 2003, the Megaron Choir since then has performed concerts throughout Europe and participated in folk singing competitions in Canada and other parts of the world. The leader, Damijan Mocnik, is both a well-known composer and conductor. Members of the choir, which is noted for its rich sounds and interpretations of music from different stylistic periods, are graduates of St. Stanislav’s Institute, an historic school of music in Slovenia.
During their stay in Annapolis area, the choir will be provided homestays in the area. Also, they will sing in Bethlehem, PA and at Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD
The concert is open to the public and sponsored by the World Artists’ Experiences in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia and Maryland Hall.
