Witness Helps Police Capture 2 Would-Be Burglars. Two would-be burglars were arrested after a witness alerted authorities, Anne Arundel County police said. Officers were called to the area of Southview Drive and Chestnut Tree Drive in Annapolis for a report of people trying to break in to cars around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. A witness told police two people were pulling on door handles trying to get into car. The witness told police one of the men got into a car while a second man appeared to be a lookout.

Essex Sports Bar Owner Stabbed By Patron.  The owner of a sports bar in Essex is recovering after police said a customer stabbed him. The incident happened just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the 444 Liquors and Sports Bar at 444 Eastern Boulevard. Police said the owner, identified as Balwinder Sandhu, 45, of Baltimore, got into a fight with Christopher Hall, 26, of Essex, so he asked Hall to leave. Police said once the pair was outside the building, Sandhu was stabbed in the abdomen by Hall.

Prince George’s Boy, 8, Fights Off Attacker.  An 8-year-old Prince George’s County boy describes how he fought off a grown woman who was trying to kill him. Police said 26-year-old Helen Newsome broke into her ex-boyfriend’s home in Prince George’s County while the child was sleeping. When Jacob Soliz-Amaya woke up, he said Newsome was smothering him and beating his head with a dumbbell.

Victims In Salisbury’s Murder-Suicide Identified. Authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that left two men dead and critically injured a Salisbury University student in Salisbury. Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis said the triple shooting happened shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Onley Road, just off campus near the university’s softball field.
